Description

It is finally done! My chorus girl - painting 1 in the moulin rouge series
PLEASE FULL VIEW, I painted so many details, thanks
14 hours of solid painting, mostly pixel 3 and details in pixel 1.
For the lace I borrowed the brushes of Obsidian Dawn, merely took elements and made lacy effects myself.
All the rest came from me though I did quite a lot of research for the feathers, the mask etc...
I feel this painting went well, it was nice to paint lots of light, I hope it is correct.

I dedicate this painting to :iconsaperlipop: who is one of my favorite manip artists, so original and full of taste and restraint in colours and subject, never shunning the odd touch of humour too. And a really nice lady too.
Thanks Madeleine, I promised you a painting and here it is!
I hope you like it!

I will continue in this series, I have found some great reference pics that will go nicely with the subject, so more dedications to great artists are programmed in the future, stay tuned, the crayon loves you.

Thanks for favs, comments and new watches, I will do my best to honour them

May I present you Cynthia - surname the purple angel,

She is 26 years old and French, born in Paris.
Her heart has recently been broken but when she is on the scene, under the heat of the spotlights she can forget her pain for a few hours.
When Cynthia appears on the scene, a huge hush descends on the audience, you could hear a feather drop on the floor, so impressed is Paris with the vulnerable yet sensual Cynthia. Men admire her but find her rather daunting and don't approach her lightly.

First of all, I don´t like the film at all, but this image is pretty cool! (Just if you meant with series the film <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)" />)

Mainly I personal prefer the mask, there is really a wonderful glow.
Also the face is beautiful and the anatomy is correct as always but I think you´re generally a bit shy with the shading.
A few more hard shadows would look much more realistic and believable, for example the shadows on the hips which are cast by the fingers could be much harder.
Except this the shadows self are quite good composed but I think they could be also much darker. I mean, she stands under a spotlight, this is a really hard light and everything unexposed is really, almost unrealistic dark.

Her clothes are true to original and the accessories like the mask, the necklace or the feather look pretty good and are really sustentative. I also like the texturing on her dress!

What I don´t like at all is the background. For me is the background always a primary element and only two light cone are for me personal too little.
Ok, she´s standing on a stage but there is also anything more to tell the viewer about her and the ambience she lives and act in. Leastwise some cuttlings from a curtain or something like that.

Many points of critique but all in all I like the image and the atmosphere (especially the mask! Really great <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)" />)
